1 Saturday. James about horses in morn:, draw in 4 loads
hardwood, Muldoon about horses in morn:, draw
out ice with oxen, saw & split hardwood & about sundries,
Peter saw ice, Griffin v ill, George about cattle &c__
Self started for Ottawa , got a little b Aylmer ,
when it came onto snow, & I turned around & came back
to dinner, then did a little fixing to bob sleigh______
2 Sunday. Church A.M. Self poorly all day; Kate,
Miss Butler & all the children out for a
drive in afternoon; James drove____
3 Monday. James to Ottawa with double sleigh,
Muldoon about horses in morn:, X-cut
ice & stow some away, Peter load sleigh
in morn: then help at ice, Griffin about
sundries in morn:, thrash wheat, George
about cattle &c__ Self to Ottawa in cutter___
4 Tuesday. James about horses in morn:, take down
old kitchen stove, harness horses, help pack
away ice & about sundries, Muldoon about
horses in morn: then at ice, Peter put
away flour & prov d in morn:, then about ice,
Griffin thrash wheat, George about cattle &c,
Self to Aylmer with old Gran: stove to get
it mended, got back to 3 o 'C. dinner, then at sundries___
5 Wednesday. James about horses in morn: draw in
4 load hardwood, Muldoon about
horses in morn:, about ice till near 4 o 'C,
then draw down a load oat straw, Peter saw
wood in morn:, help down with a load of
wheat straw, finish pack ice about 4 o 'C,
then help with oat-straw, Griffin thrash
wheat, George about cattle &c, help stow
away both loads straw & about sundries____
Self to Armstrong's for a new shoe on Major,
got back to [nother] late dinner, took Kate out
for a little drive, salt some of the cattle & sheep___
6 Thursday. James about horses in morn: clean up wheat,
& about sundries, Muldoon about horses
in morn: draw wood for Geo v rge , Peter
draw down a load straw in morn: cut wood
for Ge v orge , Griffin help with straw in morn:,
clean up wheat, then sweep out log barn &
began to thrash peas, George about cattle &c___
Self to Aylmer for old stove till near 3 o 'C,
then got dinner, rig up do__ & about sundries_
7 Friday. James about horses in morn:, help get pork
down trap-door & draw down 2 loads hay
to Cow-loft by dinner, about sundries for a
while, then help ring the boar, then break the
sawlog road, Muldoon about horses in
morn:, help get pork into cellar & draw the
hay, then help with the boar & saw wood__
Peter v chop wood at home, Griffin in thrash
wheat Peas, George about cattle &c____________
Self rig up ram's to shed for the boar, &
about sundries, to the brewery in the even g __

draw down a load peastraw & a small
load hay for oxen, Peter saw wood, help
with do & the straw, Griffin thrash peas,
George about cattle &c____ Self to Ottawa____
9 Sunday. Church PM. Kate & children out for a drive
in 3 seated sleigh before dinner, Muldoon drove____
10 Monday. James about horses in morn:, rub Poll's leg,
harness her & Spring to wood-sleigh, then
help cut 21 sawlogs, Muldoon about horses in
morn: do_ do_ do_, Peter draw river water in
morn: then at do__, Griffin saw wood in morn:,
at sundries for a while, clean up peas & draw
then down by dinner, then draw in 2 loads
soft-wood, George about cattle &c, help
clean up peas & about sundries_____ Self take
the men to sawlog bush on wood-sleigh,
file new hardwood saw & about sundries
till past 4 o 'C, then to Mt: Read's & Berry 's____
